BPE PTA...GROWING TOGETHER

PTA news for May…

May 3rd, we will be selling Bay Point T shirts at the gate at 8:15am.  T shirts are $8 each.  We accept cash or checks made out to BPE PTA. 

Also on May 3rd is Science Fair night.  After viewing all of the children’s inventive projects, we will have a General PTA meeting, followed immediately by a fun and educational Mad Science presentation with hands on scientific experiments!  Have your child dress up like a mad scientist to win a prize! 

May 7-11 is Teacher Appreciation Week.  There are many ways you can help out with this event. 
Monday: We would like to provide breakfast for the teachers.  Please drop off yogurt, bagels, fruit, juice, granola bars, or home cooked breakfast items in the front office.  Please indicate that the items are for PTA.  Items that can keep over the weekend can be dropped off the week before.  Many teachers get to school as early as 7 am, so we would like to have things available for them as early as possible. 
Wednesday and Friday: Evo’s has offered to supply lunch for the teachers.  Because the teachers only get a short lunch break, we would like to have parents volunteer to walk the children to and from their classes.  This will give the teachers a full half hour for lunch for a change!!  We will need volunteers both days from 10:20-1:30.  If you can help us with this for any portion of time, please let us know. 
All week long: We are hoping to have a “store” set up for the teachers to pick up items needed for their classroom.  We are asking for donations of paper, lined paper, pencils, tissues, dry erase markers, or any other items you can think of for the classrooms.  Again, these donations can be dropped off in the front office marked with PTA. 
Also PLEASE have your child write a few reasons why they appreciate their teacher on a separate paper or note card.  They could also draw a picture for the teacher.  Please send them addressed to the PTA with the teacher’s name indicated on the paper or note card. We will present these cards to all of the teachers.  Some will also be read on the morning announcements during the week.  These are often the nicest and most appreciated gifts the teachers receive.  Thank you!

Please return the lavender form that you received in your child's folder to the PTA box to let us know how you can help, so we can make plans.

Finally, on May 24, just prior to the Spring Concert, we will be having another General Meeting.  At that meeting, we will need all PTA members to vote on next year’s board and our updated bylaws.  Please plan to attend that important meeting.
